A Piece of Wood

Anders Rimpi: Electro-acoustics
Anna Näkkäläjärvi-Länsman: Clarinet

The two musical elements are connected in three ways: wood, body/soul and water. The electro-acoustic work is among other things based on the sound of wood, and the clarinet is also made from wood. Different body sounds and water drops are the other parts that Anders has worked with to create the music. Clarinet represents the human voice and the soul but also the boat on the sea.

Georgian, Romany and Sami music gathers in a improvisation.

The Georgian folk song tradition is said to be one of the oldest and the Georgian people's strongest cultural expressions. The country in the Caucasus has for millennia been fighting for its independence and has been occupied by including Mongols, Turks, and the Soviet Union. They have always managed to maintain its unique language and its strong folk songs.

O Poštaris avel
The film version of a traditional Romani song. Postman comes with bad news. If a Romani got this letter today, it would probably have been a court order ordering him to take his ass out of the country, regardless of which country the person is staying in.
